Albert G. Caruana is the founding and senior partner of Caruana and Jacobs, P.A. He is a seasoned trial
lawyer, with over 35 years of courtroom experience, who concentrates his practice in Family Law, including
complex contested dissolution of marriage cases, paternity, domestic violence and custody issues. Mr. Caruana
is actively involved in all strategy-related decisions, hearings and trials, and deals on a personal basis
with each of the Firm’s clients, and has assembled an excellent and dedicated staff of family litigation
attorneys to assist the clients and assist in the preparation necessary to service all of the client’s needs.

every year since 1995 to the present; South Florida Legal Guide Top Lawyers, since 2000, and as
Florida Legal Elite in Florida Trend Magazine, 2004-2007, and as a Florida Super-Lawyer in 2006, 2007. Mr.
Caruana is a member of the American Law Institute. He
served as President of the First Family Law, American Inns of Court Chapter 181 for 1996-1997. He was also
a member of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Nominating Commissions from 1984-1988 and served as Co-Chairman
in 1987-88, and participated in the recommendation to the Governor of over 40 judicial appointments during
his tenure.
Mr. Caruana is admitted to practice law in Florida and the District of Columbia, as well as before the
U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, U.S. Claims Court,
U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the
District of Columbia.
Mr. Caruana received both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, where he received
the Wesley A. Sturges scholar award for graduating number 1 in his law school class in 1972. He was the
recipient of numerous academic honors, including Iron Arrow, Order of Barristers and the Society of Wig
and Robe. While at the University of Miami School of Law, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University
of Miami Law Review. He was also a member of the University of Miami School of Law National Moot Court
Team and a member of the State Moot Court Team, was a student instructor and judge of the Law
School Honor Court.
Mr. Caruana has served as a lecturer at the University of Miami School of Law and as an Adjunct
Instructor at Florida International University.
Mr. Caruana has dedicated his legal career to litigation. He was a partner in Miami’s Greenberg Traurig
Firm before starting his own firm in 1983. Mr. Caruana has received Martindale Hubbell's highest peer rating
for legal skill, integrity and legal ethics, the coveted "AV" rating
Mr. Caruana was born in Medford, Massachusetts in 1947, and has resided in South Florida continuously since 1955.
